Finally, some color! Just have to add some minor finishing touches to this, cool down the top left corner a bit, and it'll be done. Fun playing around with predominatly cool tones, a lot of fun browns and greys in this one. All acrylic, I'm not getting into oil until I have the space to do it safely.

Fun and vibrant!

It's great to see all those sorts of colors together.

It is! Too bad it doesn't seem like a lot of people around here used them - there's a lot of ';paint from the tube' going on, which I'm just not comfortable with, since it's really easy to tell. Also, mixing paint (deliberatly with at least some idea of what the end result will be before I get there) is just plain fun!

Still have to fix up the upper left of this painting though, it's just all 'meh' over there right now.

Eww, straight from the tube has it's place but otherwise it just looks... blah.
Mixing is a bunch of fun! Getting new combination can be pretty exciting.

Exactly. The colors you get from mixing can totally save an otherwise failed painting, and the lack of them in the first place is often the reason things aren't working. Values, people, values! Also you can't have the exact same chromatic intensity *everywhere* because ow my eyes.

Myyup!
Plus, tube colors often aren't so favorable in the first place
